These terms are an agreement between you and Hatch Media LLC, a Florida company ("we" or "us"), for the Lareum app, the lareumai.com website and the Lareum relay that connects your phone (together, "Lareum"). By starting a trial, subscribing or using Lareum, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Lareum.
1. Your account
You need to be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. Use an email address you control: we send sign-in codes and links to it, and anyone with access to that inbox can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
2. Free trial and subscription
New accounts get one 7-day free trial. You add a card when you start it, and nothing is charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and your card is charged $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, depending on the plan you chose, at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
Prices are in US dollars and may not include taxes that apply where you live. Payments are processed by Stripe. If we change the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
If you subscribe in the Lareum iPhone app, Apple charges your Apple Account instead, at the price shown in the app, and new subscribers get the same 7-day free trial. Apple's terms for App Store purchases also apply to that payment.
3. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel anytime from your account on lareumai.com (Manage billing). If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged. If you cancel later, you keep Lareum until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
A subscription bought in the iPhone app is cancelled in your iPhone's Settings (tap your name, then Subscriptions), at least 24 hours before it renews. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Payments aren't refunded for partly used periods, except where the law requires it. If you think you were charged by mistake, write to us within 30 days and we'll look into it.
4. Your license to use Lareum
Lareum, the lareumai.com website and the Lareum app, including their design, text, graphics, software, name and logo, were created by and are owned by Hatch Media LLC and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Except for the license below, we keep all rights.
While your subscription is active, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Lareum app on computers and phones you own or control, for your own household. You may not resell Lareum, share your account outside your household, work around the plan check, or copy, modify or reverse engineer the app except as the law allows.
The app checks your plan about once a day. If your plan ends, Ask, label reading, attached files and phone access stop working until you restart it. Your home record stays on your computer, and you can still open and export it.
5. Your data
Your home record, conversations, memories and the files you attach stay on your computer. They belong to you, and we don't receive them. Keeping backups is up to you; Lareum can export everything in one step. Our Privacy Policy explains the limited information we do collect.
6. AI answers and home advice
Lareum's answers come from an AI model running on your computer. They can be incomplete or wrong. Maintenance schedules, life spans, warranty dates and other suggestions are general information, not professional advice, and they don't replace the manufacturer's instructions or an inspection.
Before any work involving electricity, gas, structure, roofing, water heaters, or anything else that affects safety, check with a licensed professional. Don't rely on Lareum in an emergency; call your local emergency number.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Lareum to break the law or harm anyone, and don't try to disrupt, overload or get unauthorized access to the website, the relay or other people's accounts.
8. Other services
Lareum relies on services from other companies: Stripe for payments, DuckDuckGo, Mojeek and Wikipedia for web searches that Lareum Search can't answer, OpenStreetMap for local business listings, Ollama's model library for the AI model it downloads, and Hugging Face for the speech model used for dictation. The AI models are made by third parties and come with their own licenses. Those companies' terms apply to their services, and web pages and listings Lareum reads or indexes belong to their owners; check a business's license and details yourself before hiring it.
9. Changes to Lareum and these terms
We keep improving Lareum, so features may change. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or on this site at least 30 days before the change applies. If you keep using Lareum after that, the new terms apply. If we ever stop offering Lareum, we'll give you notice and refund the unused part of any period you've paid for.
10. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Lareum is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Lareum will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its answers will be accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost data or profits, or damage to property that results from relying on Lareum's answers. Our total liability for any claim about Lareum is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Lareum and cancel at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why when we reasonably can.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and disputes go to the courts of Palm Beach County, Florida. If the consumer protection laws where you live give you more rights, those rights still apply.
